I did 9.x:1 for pump gas, conservative tuning and no meth. Like others have said not a max effort build, but enough to make 500hp @ 10psi on pump with great street manners.

Can you get to 500hp NA? Sure. Will it be as comfortable to drive as a FI build at the same power level? No way.

what are you e85 guys running. seems like with running e85 you could almost run a high compression N/A set up with boost if your on the corn.

I run E50, but I just don't see the point of running super high compression. The only way that I feel high compression is justifiable is in the case of being displacement or power adder limited. For 98% of the guys that just tool around on the street, that isn't the case.

true. the only delema im running into here is the heads i want to run (lsa's) are forcing me into a deep dish piston, and i was told by a professional on another form to try and stay away from a deep dish piston (-18cc) and leave the static compression in the motor which would bump my compression pretty high. anybody have any thoughts on this?

It is true...dish pistons reduce quench area. So to obtain optimal quench, you'd want a piston with a smaller dish or no dish. But I wouldn't do that if it meant jacking up compression unnecessarily.

Ive read where big power nitrous or FI engines actually need larger than the typicall 0.040" quench recommended in NA builds. Of course its a compromise though right...I will happy give up 10hp when its not under boost for being able to run another 50hp in boost.

My current quench is at roughly 0.070"

Default compression

high compression and force induction dont mix. higher compression needs higher octane and less timing .higher compression creates more heat. give me an lq4 over an lq9 any day with force induction.

That really depends on your fuel...pump gas that is true, but if you are running on methanol or q16, throw some compression at it along with the boost!
