haha good point

I think they are smart and realize that by the time you finish building your own short block you could have bought one ready to go for cheaper with the same parts

been there done that learned my lesson

what are you guys running for compression on your boosted set ups? i kinda want to be as close to 10:1 as possible , just seems like a happy medium with e85.

I'm running 9:1 right now in my 4.8L with e85. Should be good for high boost. Too bad the stock shortblock won't hold high boost so the low compression is pointless

Honestly it isn't too bad for what it is. 4.8L, 3.42 gears, 4L80e high first gear, 9:1 comp, ect. I really set myself up for failure out of boost but it isn't as bad as it sounds. I have the truck on the lift now putting 4.10s in so it will help some.
