Thumbs up Any Turbo Trucks in the Snow?

I live in Buffalo and DD my truck. I need to make sure if I go turbo its not going to get messed up driving in 5 months of snow/salt. Figure the only way for this is with a high front mount/under hood kit. This would keep the kit outta the elements more than a low or rear mount kit. I def want a FMIC and not one thats horizontal / under the frame ( where the skid plates are ). Im looking for something low boost for my stock truck. Just something to set it apart from the average CAI and Cat back truck. One thing for sure is I want the Turbo, Wastegate, and BOV stupid loud like a STS kit. What options should I be looking at with a basic kit?

- 2009 5.3 4x4 bolt on kit
- under the hood
- fmic
- low boost friendly

Seems like Trick is the way to go, but again wanting it loud what upgrades should I be looking at?

Input / Ideas / Tips?

ps- truck makes just under 300 wheel now with a tune, 40 series and CAI. its not bad but I come from a racing family and need to have a little more =]

WJ_mark is the first guy with a trick kit I can remember, and he lives in Colorado, but im not sure where at. Ive bought two kits from trick, and a turbo from kb. They are both really nice guys.

Trick or KB racing, both make excellent kits. IMO, the most important issue for you is getting a stainless kit or ceramic coating to prevent corrosion. For the loud factor, I would go with a Tial BOV. Mine is pretty loud even out of boost. Also, you can dump your wastegate rather than plumbing it back into your exhaust.

Def want an open gate dump.

How do I decide to go with the Trick or KB kit?

What did you guys base your purchase off of?

I live in Ohio and have a trick kit with stainless hot pipes. It's been through 2 winters now with no problems ever. I don't know why you would want the wg open, but everyone is different I guess.

Talk to KBracing and talk to Trick performance, which ever one you feel more confident with.
Both are great guys and help on the forum all the time, so the decision is up to you.

also the open wastgate gets old, fast
i had the STS and it was annoying more than anything

Basically like everyone else said, you cant go wrong with either one. I went with KB because he was having a nice sale at the time and got a good deal. I will also be driving mine in the winter (only 4WD vehicle I have). I went with the basic aluminized pipes but had KB spray and wrap them. Time will tell how well they do.

Im sure Trick and KB both will chime in at some point!
