Any turbo guys using a draw through MAF system?
The Lightning guys are switching to turbos rapidly, but the draw-through MAF causes a dying issue on decel that none of the tuners or myself have cured yet. I just wondered if any of you Chevy guys use the MAF as a draw through, or do you all go blow through or speed density?
We are going to try a maf translator to eliminate the maf and still use the factory EECV for tuning.

Jim,
The BOV goes back into the inlet tube between the maf and turbo. The issue comes from the way a turbo spins down on decel. Because the turbo freewheels for a while it keeps the maf counts up. So the load and maf counts are all out of whack for idle and it dies. We've slowed down the return to idle by dashpot, plus bumped the idle air and even failed the maf below 1000 rpm. This all helped a lot, but it will still occasionally die.
On the other boards I have not found a tuner yet who's fixed the issue 100% and it's not as easy to convert to SD with the Ford computer. Hopefully the maf translator will fix it. With the maf unplugged it won't die but I don't think the failed maf fuel table is safe enough to run this truck on without a map sensor or something else helping out.

that truck would probably be easy to put a megasquirt on and not cost too much. i know geek has done several boosted stangs with diferent types of ignition. it took me about 4 hours to install mine and from there on the tuning was soo easy. in the end it is a big time saver.

You can. Problem would be re-doing this turbo kit to fit it in there, there's no room at all the way it's built. That and that most tuners say you need a straight section of pipe in front of the maf, which would really complicate things on this setup.
