Yeah i didn't word the last question properly. Can I use the same pin location or will I have to repin in a different spot. The reason I ask is I don't have the old pin kit any more.

I've never done the pin thing, but I would think you might have issues trying to drill the balancer with the crank already drilled. It would be like drilling through a hole that was already half drilled and could easily bind the bit and break it. In this instance it might be best to just make a new hole 180* away and drive a new pin in there.

I'm sure someone has been down this road before and they may chime in. I've always done the woodruff key thing myself. But it would require an engine tear down in your case.

In theory...one would be able to piece this together right? I.e. get a head unit, buy the bracket system, then piece together a front mount kit and everything else like the turbo guys do so save a bit of money right? As opposed to dropping the ~5300 for the whole kit from HoB

Is THAT a Trick turbo "style" front mount intercooler that came with that procharger kit? That would be a SICK kit with that front mount AND the HOB bracket.....did you piece that together or buy a kit with that combo of parts?

Does anyone know if the HOB kit has the intercooler the same spot as the regular procharger kit? Flat and facing down under the radiator support.......I haven't seen anything other than thier TBSS kit and you guys just buying the bracket/balancer deal from them.

They don't offer a kit including FMIC and piping for the 99-02.

Excerpt from an e-mail from Shaun @ HOB:

We do have a ProCharger 8-rib Dedicated drive that fits the LS1/2/3. We originally made the kit for the Trailblazer SS, and then we created a different intercooler setup for the 2003-06 trucks. We haven't test-fit our systems on earlier or later-model trucks, though the bracket system should bolt up and work the same. We use an ATI Performance Products balancer with a ProCharger crank pulley on the front. We have a decent front-mount intercooler that fits on most of the 2003-06 trucks, though again, we haven't verified it on other models.

AHHHHH I see.....that is why he had to piece that thing together. I was thinking that would be pretty cool to have behind the front grill of the truck like the turbo guys do.....I live in California where the roads aren't exactly taken care of...HA HA....between THAT and the giant random DIPS going through intersections and old roads.......I would just worry about the intercooler core being so low on the truck if I had one.....looks like you could mess with the stock intercooler tubing and you MIGHT be able to piece it together in a way to get it behind the grill of the truck....what do you think man?

I used the House of Boost (HoB) bracket on my 2008 GMC 5.3L truck.

However made my own tubing, and intercooler mount behind the grill.
Super super easy, since the tubing slipped behind each headlight. Ordered a couple tubes from ProCharger, and a few silicon couplers off the internet.

I can say this though, the "China" intercooler I got that everyone seems to buy off the internet, was TOTAL crap. I had a 5psi pressure drop across the core.

However I recently sold the bracket system with the D1SC, to a buddy that has a 2013 5.3L truck, so he will be changing the intercooler out to something of more quality, that has something like .5-1psi drop across the core.
