Another Blue Smoking Problem
#21
Right now I have the stock PCV set up but both of the valve covers are ran to a tee and vented under the hood. Which should make the PCV have no effect. Right?
I installed the turbo a couple weeks ago and started happening within a couple of days.
I will check shaft play later.
Thanks

If pcv is intact. And there are breathers.
You need a check valve in pcv line.
Other wise you are pressuring the crank case though pcv line.
And your rings aren't working properly under boost.

Maybe I am making some a assumptions that are wrong. The line that runs from the top of the manifold back toward the back of the valve cover I cut and vented. Is this wrong?

So if you cut it you have 2 sides.
Engine
valve cover.
Take a look and see how and where you have hoses routed.
Got any pics?

I cut that line, ran a hose around under the throttle body, connected a tee with that line and the passenger valve cover vent line, off of that tee I ran a line over to where the air box used to be. I ran it there so I can run a catch can and vent back to pre turbo vacuum.
I apologize if this is simply a stupid error on my part but thank you for helping.

ok
So the hose from top of the intake.
You cut it.
You have 2 ends now. One side goes to the intake the other side goes to valve cover.
did you cap/plug the intake side and run valve cover side under the throttle body. T'd into the front passenger side valve cover. Then to air box?

if your not venting enough of the crankcase pressure, the pressure will pressurize the turbo drain and the oil wont drain... I'd clean out the turbine housing and take the oil cap off the fill neck.. wrap a rag around the fill neck and ziptie/ rubber band it and go drive it.. i have "fixed" many bad turbos this way...lol
