Default Am I ready to go turbo?

Current Platform: 2005 ECSB Chevy Silverado Z71 L33 5.3

-Stock 2005 L33 5.3 120,000 mi (Lots of Highways, drove it across the country with my job)
-Stock 3.42s
-Bolt Ons (CAI/Exhaust)
-On order FLT Level 6 with billet output shaft 4L60E With Yank TT3000 Torque Convertor
-In-Tank Walbro 255 Fuel Pump (Only has 2 Miles on it so far)
-4/6 Drop
-A year ago I hit a deer and it did 12,000$ in front damages. Truck drives better than before now but all my Hoses in the front are replaced and trans cooler/radiator got replaced

Going to Add:

-60# Injectors (Anyone Have any FS or have PN For direct fit replacements?)
-KB MPT70 Intercooled turbo
-True Trac (keep stock gears?)
-CalTracs (Can You use with drop Hangers?)
-HydroBoost Brakes (Anyone selling any Hydroboost components?)

Should I add:

-Turbo Cam (Before or after turbo install?)
-3.73 / 4.10 Gears (worth it? Too Much for a turbo application?)

Based on my current set up and future mods am I ready to go with the Turbo Set up? Being the stock motor should I have it checked as far as internals? Or is there anything I might want to change out before I go through with buying the Turbo Kit. The engine runs great.
I do want to add some sort of turbo Cam, never have had one before, how hard are cams to install on the Silverados?

Any and all help is appreciated I just like the reassurance of people smarter than me before I go and drop more money into my truck.

IMO put off some of the other mods such as CalTracs, HydroBoost Brakes, and the cam swap and invest your money in a lvl 5 or 6 FLT tranny (or maybe a 4L80e swap). That's what I did (lvl 6) because I didn't want to worry about tearing up the tranny as much. Also, I would get a 2600-2800 torque converter instead of the 3k. As for the injectors, there are some that are drop in but I think you would be maxing them out running 8-10 lbs of boost. A lot of people are running sieman deka 60lb ls1 style injectors. You have to get an adapter harness and space the fuel rails up some but its not a big deal. Oh and I would spend the extra money and get all stainless steal hot side piping and possibly a 3.5" downpipe.

A main issue I would check for first, considering the mileage you have, is a compression and leak down test. Im going turbo myself, but with only 25K miles on mine. IMO, that would be the biggest issue, to make sure your bottom end will hold the boost. Other than that, it looks like your on the right track.

I called Andy @ FLT and upgraded to the FLT LVL 6.
I'm serious about peoples advice I'm not just shooting out hopes and dreams. I think the 80 would be too big for me. I've got a lot of hard life out of my 60 so I'm expecting the FLT to hold up for a while.

Do these look like the right ones?

Carbongmc- Would you know how much a shop would charge to do a test like that? For comparison reasons..

You dont need any caltracs if you have a z71. get a WB also . If you did gears 3.73 will work great, i wouldnt do the 4.10 unless you lifted it with some bigger tires. maybe some exhaust work. If you did a cam I would do it before the turbo install.

I think the old 5.3L will be just fine as long as you don't burn oil now and do a compression test as you swap to a colder plugs to confirm she's healthy.

These are a little more expensive, but are direct swap for trucks.

Get a good tune, don't do mail order, go get a street/dyno tune from a shop that has a good name for boosted ls stuff.

Thanks for the Link. I plan on trying out Klug Performance, he's a new sponsor and he's local so I figured he could get me a good street tune then ill probably shoot for a dyno tune a little down the road.
