I still have my intercooler mounted the same way as the procharger had it. I was gonna build a scoop but never did and used a larger piece rubber flap. I also mounted 2 10" electric fans to pull air thru it on hot days. Not sure how much it helps but it cant hurt.

What kind of AIT are you guys running? When I was running my P-1SC, I used a standard 24x12x4 FMIC mounted vertically below the radiator and never saw AIT go more than 20 degrees above ambient even on 90 degree days. It was efficient enough that when I made an insulated 4" air intake set-up to pull cool air from the original air filter location (behind the passenger headlight), I didn't see any real improvement in AIT.

Depending on what your current AITs are, it may be more benefitial to change intercoolers.

I have intended to make one for my larger, after-market FMIC for some time and never have.
quicksilverado has almost the exact same intercooler and made one for his that worked well...he made one on top of the FMIC instead of the bottom...
my FMIC is mounted at a slight angle w/o any scoop or dam at all and I only see 10-12° above ambient while driving...even in Summer

I run the the Procharger 3 core with the air dam.I was just wondering if an actual scoop would be better.

It doesn't sound like you converting to a FMIC would be any benefit.
