I contacted a few turbo dealers and I’m leaning toward KB racing. The kit is $3400. I will have to come up with some odds and ends but as far as fuel system I think I’m good. The torquestorm centi is roughly the same cost depending on options without an IC. I’m trying to be “budget friendly” but you get what you pay for most of the time.

Trick has his turbo kit comes with an intercooler but priced without turbo at 3400 iirc. That’s who I was planning on going with

I sure hope your not trying to use the original 5.3 from 1999. It won't handle boost without upgrades.

what kind of upgrades? I’m doing arp head bolts, mls head gasket, valve springs, and pushrods. Looks like ill end up with a BW s366 or s369. I’m not going to be running a ton of boost. If I can break 500whp I’ll be happy with it.

I would upgrade rods with boost.

So I have just about all my parts in and I have the engine pulled for the rebuild. Parts I have- TSP stage 3 cam, push rods, valve springs, lifters, truition kit, head gaskets, intake gaskets, knock sensors, oil pressure sending unit, 160~ thermostat, injectors, fuel pump, headers, exhaust system, e fans, e fan harness, trans cooler, radiator, fuel pump Hotwire kit, head bolts, timing chain, rear main seal, melling oil pump and I’m porting the heads when I pull them. I’m using the stock crank but am looking at crank bearings and connecting rod bearings. Anything else I’m over looking that I should do while I have the engine tore down to prep for boost? Hopefully I’ll be able to order my KB turbo kit soon. Also the engine has 177k miles currently.
