Default 99 Silverado 4.8 turbo?

I currently have a Nitrous Express system on my truck. I don't like it but I want to keep the power I get with it so I decided to look into a turbo kit. I will most likely build my own manifold but I am not real familiar with turbo setups so I need a few pointers. What all would I need exhaust wise? I looked around on here and found a few but I was wandering why it is that the manifold goes to the turbo as well as the exhaust? I thought the exhaust came out of the back of the turbo? Anyway as I said I don't know a lot about them so please be easy on me.

So anyone have a pic of a turbo exhaust header for a 4.8l? I think I have everything else figured out. Any help would be appreciated.

Try searching around a little bit. Trick and KB Racing make turbo manifolds, look for pics on their websites.

The manifold goes to the turbo as well as the exhaust because the exhaust goes thru the turbo. thats how a turbo works...from the engine, thru the manifold, then thru the turbo, then out the exhaust...just goin on a limb here, but you may want to just let someone else build a turbo setup for you as I wouldnt want you to screw your engine up forgetting something simple.
