Just finished up the j-tube and umi throttle body install. Had to get a 4" coupling to mount the throttle body to the radix air tube, deleted my egr and blocked off the port on the header with a plate. I also had to have the throttle cable plate redrilled to and moved over slightly to make sure the cable were working at good angles.




I havent went WOT yet because I still need to get tuned. It does seem to have low throttle issues which I think (hope) can be tuned out. Runs more rough in when cold as well.

Im going to get tuned next week and hopefully report back a solid gain. I do have 100% throttle movement because it is not DBW. I am also going to have the meth turned up and hopefully a few more degrees of timing. I have 21 degrees now, so I think with more meth and this mod I should be able to see 25 degrees of timing.

I am hoping for 25rwhp which would put me right at the 500rwhp mark. I will be sure to report back with a new dyno graph next week.

Have you retuned your iac table? I'll bet you have a slightly different size iac passage. You might have to tweak your throttle stop as well.

90mm tb conversion proved to be worthwhile. Gain was 30rwhp and 23rwtq with tuning.

 

Its nice to see the gains that were questioned back in the day are actually coming to life now. I remember when there were members questioning the 30-40 rwhp gains from this mod.......well na sayers, here is your proof....
