Default 90mm cable TB Radix mods (attn BlownChevy and moregrip)

Hey guys,

I am going to start getting stuff together for the 90mm conversion on my truck. I will probably be modding my own J-tube, but I think I am going to buy the UMI 90mm TB. Couple of questions....

1. Can I get a UMI TB through Magnuson (I heard something about Magnuson being partnered with UMI?)

2. How do I go about deleting the EGR system?

3. Am I the first person to do this mod with a cable TB?

Thanks!

Didn't Whitt1 do a 90mm TB on his tahoe last year? I think so, but I don't recall any particular details. Search out his posts and maybe you'll stumble across some details.

Whitt was the first one to do it as far as I know, I got him set up with the parts early last year. I think we may have the UMI TB's instock, I will have to check for you tomorrow on price and availablity.

I actually went from a throttle by wire to a cable,It's more involved because you need to change petal setups modify wiring, pin locations, add a throttle cable and change pcm programming. At the time I did my conversion no one but FAST offered a 90mm throttlebody.I have since updated to the UMI setup which is much better than the FAST.Unless you already have a cable operated setup,I would suggest sticking with the throttle by wire setup. If you have a cable the UMI setup is hard to beat.As to deleting the EGR,just remove the hardware plug the openings and delete the code from the PCM.Then check your tune only minimal changes are needed.
