Ok I need some help too! I have a 5.3 with the Z06 cam and springs with LS2 injectors. I wanna go turbo in My Suburban. I want to keep the towing ability and the stock torque converter! Will this work ok? T70 Turbo Charger Mustang Supra Civic Camaro+ 3" V-Band | eBay

A P-trim .96 70mm will spool significantly sooner and from less of a load on the engine, which isn't a bad thing. It really just depends on how you want the truck to act. If you did go with a 76mm, I would keep it at a .96 P-trim. You could even pick up a .81 a/r housing for it, to get things started a little quicker.
What's the exact specs of the Turbo? I wanna get this 70mm Here's the specs! Whats the real size?

Inlet 4"
Outlet 2.5"
Bearing Wet Floating Bearings
Cooling Oil
Flange Standard T4
HP Rating 400-500 HP
Internal Wastegate None
Compressor .70 A/R Compressor
Turbine .96 A/R Turbine
Compressor Wheel 91mm/61mm
Turbine Wheel 74.7mm/62mm
Hot Side 3" V-band

Somebody said it was a 62mm due to the Turbine Wheel size. Is this true? It's advertised as a 70mm...

Looks like 61mm compressor and 62mm exhaust. Way to small if you ask me. Unless you go twins.

yea looks like a 61mm turbo. I think it would get you almost to 500, but spool way to quick and run out of power up top.

the compressor side of the turbo pretty much just tells you how much air it can push into the motor, id be alot more concerned about the exhaust wheel size and ar, a 70mm can make 700hp. You don't want any more then a 1-1.5 back pressure ratio. I'd recommend a 75mm ex wheel with a .96 ar for a 600hp 5.3 and a 1.10 ar for anything over 700hp.

I just swapped from an on 3 70mm .96 ar to a master power 76mm .96 ar. This is on a 5.3 with 317 heads, we don't have a dyno local here but its unbelievably different, and still running it at 14 psi. Guessing the on 3 turbos are just crappy to begin with.

You should get a BW billet SXE S369 or S371 and it will blow that t70 out of the water!! lol Just need to have the discharge machined for a 3" vband and run a 1/2" spacer on the t4 inlet and will bolt right in to your pipes. Ask Rick about one, think he's got a 71 he should let you borrow... for testing! lol

Is that a fair comparison? A 70/65 to a 76/75? I personally think the VS racing, On3, MasterPower, Magnum... are all the same.

I've been blowing up his phone with questions about upgrading for months LOL. He's got a stock of all different brands and sizes. I think I'll end up going with something like a 78/75 .96. Its in my price range and a direct bolt on. I want to believe the BW is a much better turbo and will be more efficient across the board but I am not a fabricator. I do not have the tools needed to do that turbo swap in the garage plus I'm sure its going to be a hundreds more. I've been pursued by Sloppy Mechanics for too long and for my final goal of 600 wheel... I really believe a "cheaper" turbo would get me there.

Who knows, I just got my Stage III completed, haven't gone WOT and already thinking about more power.
