Default 6.0L w/ oil cooler on the block, turbo oil feed question

I bought a 6.0L to drop in place of my 5.3

It came with the oil cooler adapter piece. I do not want to run this, I want to run it howout I had it with the 5.3- which was using the drilled/tapped out piece above the oil filter. Could I just put on my old drilled/tapped piece on there? or since it was setup for an oil cooler will there be complications with this? I see there are two ports on the block, one must be pressurized while the other is a return line. Do I need to block off the return line to prevent a pressure loss?

You can put your old taped cover on there. Your 5.3 block was exactly the same. Both ports are pressurized.
