Default 6.0L Radix Install Underway

Started the LQ9/Radix swap today. Doing the swap at the shop of the late NHRA Champ Steve Carbone.

So far everything seems to be going fine, with exception being the damn EVAP line. Neither the stocker or the one that came with the charger will work. What kind of pressure/vacumn is this hard line under? Can itbe spliced with some sort of flex line so it will work?

Here is a pic as of this evening.

Are you talking about that hard plastic line that has the solenoid thingy on the end? I never could get it off so just pushed it out of the way and then gorilla-armed it back into place.

I couldn't get it to disconnect either. I just forced it around the charger and it seems to work.

I removed it and replaced it with rubber fuel line hose and haven't had any issues with it.

You have to run it along the inside of the fuel rail. You will have to disconnect the back end of it to do that. It's a tight squeeze to get your hand down there with the blower bolted down but I have done it a couple of times.

Where is that vac hose from the bottom of the solenoid running to? Don't you have some hose fittings on the side of the j-tube behind where the throttle body mounts?

Yep talking about the hard plastic line. Thought about splicing it with a plastic barb/fuel line, but if it's too much of a bitch I'll run a HP fuel line and call it good.

DrX - I see what your looking at...the hose is just laying there on the driver's side. I had disconnected it for something, but yeah it'll go back on the brass barb on the J-tube.

Thx guys. Should be driving it today sometime.

The line will fit, it is just not very happy with its new position once installed. LQ9 and Radix in a rcsb should run well, congrats!

Whew it's finally done! And I felt every minute of it. My *** is getting too old and out of shape for this.

Just some cosmetics to take care of for the most part. Drove it home with no problems to speak of. The fuel trims are all over the place, but thats to be expected with just a generic calibration in it. Taking it over to Ed Wright's Monday for the tune, so I should have some numbers to post up afterwards.

Peace.

Thanks Tom. Yeah I knew that if I didn't jump on it the whole project would be another procrastination effort. It'll be a couple weeks for the times, but should have the numbers Monday afternoon. I'll try and post some video as well.
