Default 6.0 Turbo Build

I've started rebuilding my motor in my 2005 2500HD 4wd with 4.10s/stock converter and I have a few questions. My rotating assembly is in good shape (crank needs to be cut) so I'm just doing rings/bearings/cam and freshening up the heads.

I ended up buying a hot side setup (currently a 3" dp, 2 bolt wastegate flange and t4 turbo flange but I can weld and have no issue welding on different flanges and I will probably remake the downpipe using 4" pipe). I will defiantly be intercooling this setup.

I was looking at buying the trick flow 216/220 .560"/.560" 114 lsa with pac 1218 springs.

I am keeping the lq4 truck intake manifold. I'd imagine that cam will make power to 6200 rpms.

Would anybody like to suggest a turbo or a different cam? I am cool with running 91 octane and water meth. I'd really like to be able to get this truck into the 11s even if that requires 100 octane fuel from the track.

I would leave get a cam from a cam man. But for a turbo I would get a trick S480.

S480 over the s475 on a stock stall and such a heavy truck? I was figuring the s475 t4 83mm was probably what I was going to end up with but then I'm probably overcammed.

Is it a ecsb or a rclb? Cause you can use my truck as a reference for how much power youre gonna need to make, look in my signature. Granted my trucks weird and doesnt make as much power as it should I keep getting told.

The other thing is I dont see how the race gas is gonna help because you cant just run 91 and then 100 race gas on the same tune as far as I know, well I guess you could but you wouldnt be using the potential the race gas offers. I assume its like meth, you cant just start spraying meth without a different tune

Looking forward to the build though, not a ton of 4wd 2500hds on here

Stock converter is a piece of ****. You'll be giving up a second in the quarter mile plus theyre known to flex and take out the crank at the power levels you would need to run 11s

Mine is a SCLB truck. If I should change my converter I'm okay with it but I really didn't want to spend the extra money.

I'm open for cam/turbo selection. I'll probably end up with a 75/83 s400 t4 unless I can snag another descent one used for around the same price.

Any reason not to run MLS head gaskets (I see talk of the ls9 headgaskets, wider quench maybe?) and factory replacement head bolts?

Heads will lift with factory head bolts with the amount of power you want. Many people have good luck with ebay head studs, some people spend the money on ARP, either way you need head studs. I run ebay head studs and have had no problems

Ebay studs have less tensile strength than stock bolts.

Either do ARP or nothing.
