5.3 Silverado twin turbos
#1
Hey guys I've got a couple questions for the people that might know a little bit more on the turbo subject then I do. But I've got 2006 5.3 silverado, my question is can a stock engine handle twins? I was wanting to do a build with 2 small turbos instead of one big turbo. Any input or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

with twins good power and no lag
you can build your engine with twins and stock block
but u must doing some upgrades
-ls9 gasket
-ARP studs head
-HARMONIC BALANCER (pulley)
-fuel rail , injectors & fuel pump
you can get all this parts in summit racing
ARP-234-4317
NAL-12622033
SLE-100230A
about the turbo i like to use precision 67DBB or Garrett GTX35 DBB if the housing tail its better
but really u have many choice
also if u wanna install camshaft isky triple 12 & bulletcams
now I'm working in sliverado 5.3 stock block and i will order bullet camshaft
coz my friend jesus garza (Ghost rider ) he advised me to try this camshaft
if u wanna the results wait only two weeks (:

you can throw 2 turbos on any engine....fuel pump and injectors is a must ....good cam will just make more power where you need it...10 to 12 lbs boost will work on a stock engine all day long with proper tuning

Yeah fuel wise is the biggest upgrade aside from the actual piping and whatnot. A walbro 400 is a good choice and 80 lb injectors are nice so if you want to go more in the future you have more injector.
The stock intake and rails are fine but an external adjustable regulator is nice to have
Yeah so things to change on a stock motor (dont quote me though)

headstuds
head gaskets
Cam swap (optional)
isky triple 12 (i run one)
Hardened pushrods
stiffer springs

Twins can fit stock engines with no mods.
Limited to 5-7 psi.
Unless going for the look. It's a waste of money.
You have 2x the parts, to deal with.
If its for the power you want twins are great once you get past 1200hp area.
