that's essentially what it would end up being but with an iron block instead of an aluminum block; saves you the cost and trouble of locating a different block

lots of ppl have bored the 5.3 out, with new internals and make a 346

Theres quite a few around Ive built 2 iron ls1s, one was forged, fixin to start on an iron 383

no steal steal your thread..but i am building a 08 5.3 with a TVS1900 ARH 1 7/8w/cat and 224/230 114 cam DOD delete. The kit i got cam with 42lb injectors and i was wondering what i should buy first...starting to run low on funds after buy everything...

meth kit or 60lb injectors....and i still need to get a higher stall converter going with Circle D

I did'nt mean to word it that way of no one ever boring a 5.3. I've just seen were most people ditch the 5.3 and go with the 6.0. Anyways, I'm looking at the two stroker kits one says 346 and the other a 383. How far can i go on the 5.3 block bore and stroke wise? Also I am going to port and polish the heads or would it be better to run a different set of heads. I am still going to run the mp112, may uprade to the tvs later.

the 346 is bore only, the 383 is bore and stroke

I think that if you are planning to build a 383, you should consider a larger blower than the 112. The 122 or a TVS series would be better suited for the larger cubes.

Just my opinion.

it will work fine on either engine. If that's what you have that's what you should use unless you want to spend the $$ upgrading the blower as well.
