Default 5.3 radix build

I'm new to the forum and I look forward to learning all that I can. I just recently installed the mp112 on my 5.3 2004 silverado. I like it very much but would love to gain the most power possible from the system. I'm basically stock except for volant cai and flowmaster muffler. I plan on headers and full exhaust with magnaflow's. Maybe a cam and pulley as well, not sure about the pulley because the guy's at magnacharger told me the 3.2 pulley that I have is plenty enough boost. Although i see most guy's on the forum running a smaller pulley. Also a custom tune in the future as well. Any feed back on how gain the most from the 112 would be greatly appreciated!!

welcome to PT. Your going to see a big improvement just with a good tune. The 3.2" pulley is giving you close to 8lbs, plenty. A better flowing exhaust will drop boost but increase hp. Lots of great info here. Click my sig pic and read my pages if you like.

Agreed 100% with trever1t. Getting a good tune on it will most likely be the best thing you could do for your set up. You will end up being very close to my set up I am guessing. Im running 9-10lbs with the 3.2 and MP122. I would like a bit more but dont think the stock 5.3 will take it. Welcome to the forum.

Thanx for the input I will definately be putting on headers and possibly the Gt2-3 cam and then get a tune. My other question, is there a cam that will produce the same power as the gt2-3 but have choppier idle? And also if I lose boost with the headers and exhaust will I need to drop a pulley size to compinsate?

boost is a measure of restriction, compressed air/fuel in the manifold-not the cylinder. Removing exhaust restrictions lowers measured boost but increases output very nicely. Yes, you can go to a smaller pulley for even more power

There are alot of tricks to the maggie setups.... 90mm throttlebody conversion. Methanol. Larger heat exchanger.... $$$$$$$

Good boost cams do not have choppy idles. The choppiness comes from the close lobe separation. The Gt2-3 is 118.5, which is quite wide, and is also why its good for superchargers.

And heat is a big problem with the 112's, so if/when you pulley down, you need to keep it cool. I went with the CTS-V heat exchanger and volant ram air to help combat this.

Also make sure you have the supporting mods as you increase horsepower, like tune, injectors, fuel pump or boost-a-pump, headers, tune, and tune.

There are a bunch of Maggie's in here, so the search button can be your best friend

yeah, that too. 40k tranny cooler, corvette servos, maybe even a HD2 shift kit will help delay the inevitable
