I picked up a 93 4l80 from the local yard for 300. Fluid was brown (uh oh) but I threw a trans go HD 2 in, longer shift shaft. A little bracket with spacer to mount the nss to the trans using pan bolt. Circle d 3200, no boost yet, but has held up well to my cammed 4.8 and heavy foot.
The wiring is pretty straight forward. Swap 2 wires around in the main trans harness and add wires for the second vss
The swap is straight forward and should be butter by the looks of your fab skills.

The worst part is the bitch is HEAVY!!!
I put mine in with the truck on jack stands 3 times by my self with just a floor jack. NEVER again!

LoL, it is a heavy bitch for sure. So it'll be obvious that I have a short shaft? Where do I buy a longer shaft? I saw a few pics about how to swap it out. Looks straight forward.

But the trans I got bit me in the ***, it had the short spline output and the tail housing was bolt on only yoke so I had to swap it out too, (the yoke wouldn't go in, its the tail housing with 4 bolts on it for tail mounted park brake) other than that its gravie.
Sounds like I might be in the same boat. What parts did you go with and where can i buy them? I'll post up a picture of my tail shaft a little later.

If you are going to run a stock 80e converter you will need the 6.0l flex plate with the 6 bolt pattern and it will already have the spacer.

Your 60e trans mount is the same as an 80e mount (the one that bolts to the crossmember).

For my driveshaft/yoke I was able to use the stock shaft with a conversion u-joint and I bought the yoke from Jake's, its a Sonnax forged piece (short style), but I think they machine the output shafts to accept a slip yoke depending on the style. All I know is everything works.

Great info. Looks like I might shoot jake's an email and see what they say. Wonder if there is a yoke that I can use that doesn't require a new housing or machining.

Do you have a recommendation for model/year/engine? I have a couple yards close I could go pick one up. I'll get new crank bolts. Converter bolts came with the tranny so I'm good their.

I think it's 2007 up 4l80e, but not positive on that.

Think i found a thread that applies

4l80e slip yoke - LS1TECH

I guess I need a th400 slip yoke with counterbore and a transition u-joint. I'll probably shoot denny's an email later today and see what they say. they have about 30 yokes on their site lol.

No, just find a tune in the repository from a 2500hd thats the same year as yours and send that tune and your tune to support@hptuners and tell them you need a trans segment swap. Done.
