I am getting more and more interested in adding a turbo to my 07Classic 4wd truck with a 4.8. My concern is its a dd that I need to maintain drivability, low maintenance and occasionally tow a boat/travel trailer. I know there are going to be the 6.0 responses but I am interested in using what I have, a 109k 4.8 and at least the short block.

You could do it if you wanted too, just buy a quality turbo kit/fuel system.

Then you'll need a 4L80e to back it up and ditch the factory G80 that will grenade on you.

 

Put something like a bw366 or something on it and let her eat.

 

I think the only way you can go wrong is if you don't hede the advice for the 4L80e.
