Dude your making yourself sound pretty ignorant. Not all converters feel the same when not locked up... Some are a **** load looser and some drive like stock. And you really don't know what your talking about if you don't know where idling issues come into play. I've had 6 different converters and they all act different, period. Slap a 4500 converter in a truck and see if you don't have idling/stalling issues

^^^ yep the really small diameter ones, 9.5 and smaller, will act alot different at idle than your stocker or even a 10.5 one...

I do believe this is why we have all these nice tuning suites at our disposal? It's not like that small problem should prevent anyone from getting a real converter...

I cannot see what you really contributed to this thread other than sarcasm, since 2003 I have contributed more to this site than I care to mention. The OP asked for opinions, and I am giving mine based on experience. Unless you have something other than the obvious **** stirring comment then stay out......

Have a nice day

How in the world do you consider a 4500 stall speed converter streetable? Granted streetable is subjective, however a 4000 plus pound truck with a converter that big is going to be a pile of crap to drive. People need to take more than the track into consideration when they may their recommendations, our vehicles are not strictly track vehicles.

As you can see by the numerous posts that state the same thing as I do, this would make it quite clear that it must be true. Anything over 3200 is a waste on the street.

4500 is very easily streetable. That is all, not my fault if the majority of you are panzies! I run a 245mm 3600 circle d billet single disk and wish I would've gone bigger to be honest. There are obviously sacrifices that have to be made if you want to run as hard as possible but it's worth it to me and most real racers as I can see Quik agrees with me. I realize this conversation is going nowhere so I will leave this thread now.
