Default 2Bar SD, any reason to keep MAF ?

old style cable throttle, original PCM from 2002, running 2Bar, SD .
IAT installed under Magnuson heat exchanger.
Is MAF serving any remaining function ?
Does transmission use MAF output to sense engine load ?
Can I just remove MAF entirely ?

The MAF can be completely removed on speed density tunes. You already have the IAT sensor wired in else where. Then so long as the the tune has the MAF disabled it can be taken out.

My 2002 SD Tahoe has no MAF. Looks nice under the hood, less wires
