Question 2018 Yukon Transmission (Twin Turbo 640/650 RWHP)

Looking for information or threads on setups to go with, truck makes around 640/650 RWHP.

Current dilemma, the transmission.

Stock converter failed, had it replaced with a Circle D 6L80 Pro Series 265mm, next couple days, car wouldn't go into higher gears, transmission repair shop says have the converter checked and put it back together with a stock one, he told me to get "4-5-6- clutch stuff" was curious if anyones used this https://www.circledtrans.com/6l80-pe...e-cdt-level-25 or has input on best option?

Why were you tasked with looking up and buying internal parts and having the converter checked? Isn't the shop the one that's supposed to have knowledge on hard parts?

There's a member here that's familiar with the 6L-series. Perhaps he can chime in.

You have to buy the stage 4 circle d trans kit and find someone you know has built for big power before to put it together. Who is tuning it? Unless you upgrade to the power glide style hub your wasting your time.

@strutaeng Originally I thought the same thing. Stock transmission repair shop, guy who owns it is personally familiar with high HP applications, however it is not a performance shop. Only charging me for the labor, leaves me to sourcing the parts.

@smokinlmm Thank you! I just canceled the order and upgraded to the level 4, circle d suggested I have someone review the tune, the vehicle was built and tuned at Katech in Detroit.

Good to hear. Tuning is everything on these. You will be happy with it once it’s all together and you still have 6 gears. Lol.
