Default 2015 5.3 sierra -whipple- shorty headers choice

Fighting the smog ***** , doing a 2.9 whipple on my 5.3 got some borla type s exhaust and figured since the longtubes are out the window , whipple provided tune can work with a set of shortys . Any suggestions, im looking at 1 3/4 hooker blackheart and gibson shorty headers 1 7/8 , i know they wont compare to LT but looking to have a better flowing exhaust atleast

I don't think it's going to make a spit of difference ditching the factory manifolds even with a whipple. But if you're set on spending money, go with the largest primaries you can in this case.

So I definitely wanted LT but being the circumstances here with smog I figured something was better than nothing , at this point it sounds like a may not gain any true hp/tq gain , atleast not enough to justify the cost .definitely not looking to throw money away if no real benefit comes from this

Money would be better spent on a positive displacement friendly cam if you're not already planning on it anyway.

Didn't Three6gmc do CTSV manifold on his newer regular cab with the mag 2650. I know at one point he had speed engineering headers like me. But did like all the valve train noise. I'm pretty sure I saw a post on his instagram where where he switched them out for Stock CTSV manifold.

Might be worth getting ahold of him and the Smog ***** won't have a clue.

it was ZL1 manifold but unless you can weld up the collector your self. It would be pretty useless to you.
