Default 2003 Yukon XL 2500 Quadrasteer TVS1900

Adapting my Roush TVS1900 kit for GMT900’s to my GMT800, in this case my 2003 Yukon 2500XL Quadrasteer.

Extra stuff needed and acquired:

NNBS water pump
NNBS fuel rails with removable crossover tube
TB adapter
MAP or TMAP sensor and adapter harness
Fuel injector adapters
Fuel system plumbing stuff if you have a return style

Everything is going pretty good, but the fuel rail and associated plumbing is a little messy. Going to start with using the C5 Corvette filter / regulator. My junkyard fuel rail was cut before the quick disconnect fitting so I had to adapt using an AN compression fitting and EFI quick disconnect 3/8 fitting. The feed and return lines would be kinked if I don’t offset the filter / regulator, so I’ll deal with that.

My first question is if the trans cooler is directional, or if it has an internal thermostat? To make room for the water to air intercooler heat exchanger I had to get creative. I turned the OEM trans cooler 180 and plugged the lines back in. Will this be an issue? I was able to use the brackets from the kit to mount it, but I did have to trim one of the trans cooler mounting brackets and use spacers to take up the offset distance to the OEM mounting holes. Also had to do a fair bit of trimming on the back of the grill.

Indeed they do, 2500 3/4 ton no less. I have technically owned 3 previous to this one.

Nice! Those Quadrasteers are nice! It's a Dana 60 rear axle, right?

I bet you can park right next to the Smart cars with that Quadrasteer turning radius engaged!?

i've always promised myself if i ever bought a suburban, it'd be a QS version.
the wheel well flares are also much more tasteful than the half-dually fenders the trucks used... though the wide bed was good for running huge rear tires.

The trans cooler is not directional and does not have a thermostat either.

Nice build! I have a 2004 Suburban 2500 with the 6L but without the quadrasteer. I use it as my tow rig and would love to put a turbo on it. I'm in the Butte area right now so it struggles going up the passes with a big load. Noticed your Bozeman plates!

Correct!

Yeah, the 130” WB lends itself to some tight circles My 2500 Silverado with QS has a 143”WB and the difference is very apparent.

Thank you, that’s what I needed to know!

Howdy neighbor. The truck I mentioned above is 156k miles of stock LQ4 engine with an intercooled T76 turbocharger. It’s made a few trips over the pass at 80mph on cruise
