Default 2000 silverado 4.8 Budget build?

hey guys new to the forum, i picked up a low milage RCSB silverado with a 4.8 i want to boost it on a budget (i know those two things don't really jive) but its going to get a proper build over the winter. so in the meantime i just want something fun to beat on the rest of the summer. i can throw around 2k at it, so my question is, is there a kit anyone has experience with or recommends? or what are you guys using or recommend to piece a kit together? thanks in advance!

Only thing that will get you remotely close to that number and boost is a used Procharger

if you can Fab for free, and have access to low cost or no cost materials, you can maybe make a turbo happen for that price; if you built it all yourself

You cannot get boost, fuel mods and tuning for 2k, there is no way

I suggest doubling your budget, at minimum

The more researching I’m doing I’m seeing it is kind of senseless to just waste the money on eBay stuff. I think I might put a small cam and headers on it and just drive it for the time being

Ebay is an excellent resource for finding quality, used parts; but generally yes: avoid the chinesium BS if you can avoid it. Sometimes, it just has to be purchased for a variety of reasons

the best low budget boost build is gonna be a Procharger, imo. I bought my first one used for 2k, I have about 2800 into this second one

they lack "punch" but that can be alleviated with pulley combos and cam selection; to some degree. But they are cheap, reliable and still make cool noises

Spend the 2k on a 6.0 or a 6.2 swap IMO.

6.0 could be possible with 2k but 6.2 is not. Doing a 6.2 now is like doing a turbo build basically
