Default 1500 vs 2500 STS kit

IS the STS kit the same for the 1500 and 2500? Will my 1500 STS kit fit on a 2500? IF not what would have to be changed?

Anyone? Will the 99-06 Chevy/GMC STS kit fit a 2006 2500HD Silverado?

What turbo is with the kit? It might be a little small for the 2500. I run a T60-1 and it is a fast spool on the street but probably not optimum for my 6L. The frames are different on the two trucks and I am sure you will need some different inlet tubing from the turbo outlet to go over the frame at the back. If they are both the same body style the rest will probably be OK. If not the same body style then you may need other inlet pieces. The rest should fit just fine. STS will know what you need and will sell you the pieces that you need. Call them to check first and to get a cost so you don't get too many surprises. You will also need a Wye pipe to go from your twin exhaust before your muffler down to the single pipe that runs into the turbo. It should be doable but some small mods may be required. The kit I have was made for a 1500 and it was modified to fit a 2500 and I bought it used and modded it to fit my 1500HD.

The turbo was upgraded from the 60-1 to the 70 so it should be very good for the 6.0L in the 2500HD. The body is the same so what needs to be changed? Where the body mounts are?

Just got off the phone with STS and I was told the kit is the same for the 1500 and 2500 with a slight change on the HD. The HD needs a y-pipe right before the turbo but everything else would be the same.

That sounds correct. Any style 2500 with the 6.0 will need the y-pipe before the turbo. The frame is taller on the 2500 HD and I have a pic showing two pipes that replace pipe CK1 on the inlet side. You might also need a 2 1/4" x 3" silicone hose and 2 clamps.
