112 to 122 UPGRADE
#1
well its time to upgrade my 5 year old 112 to 122 there is nothing wrong with it..i have baut 60-70K miles on it and its been in both of my trucks (2k 5.3 and now a 05 6.0 swap 470HP 465TQ) its incredible that this thing has lasted this long with 5 years of daily abuse and it still feels, sounds and looks new simply un frigin believable .. i cant imagine anything else lasting this long with ZERO problems.
my question is how much more power would i make with the 122 i have the smallest pulley rite now on the 112 is there a percentage of power increase if i put the same pulley on the 122..

Assuming you have a 2.75" pulley on the 112 now, if you swap it on to the 122 you will probably be pushing more boost than pump gas can handle. And possibly more boost than your bottom end can handle assuming your short block is still stock. There is so few people that have actually ran the 122 yet you'd probably have to contact Magnasun to get a pulley size recommendation...or one of the Maggie gurus on here might could help.

ill do this swap only if theres a significant difference. just wanted to know how much bigger the 122 is from the current 112. is it 2 5 10 20 30 PCT bigger???
install looks to be very simple just swap the top part of head unit and your done. so wanted to get more info on this compressor how big of a difference is it from the 112 anyone know.
as to who sells it im not sure probably one of the supporting vendors why do you ask isnt out yet???

112 and 122 are the cubic inch displacement of the rotor groups. The HH stands for high helix and that is the twist of the lobes in the rotor. The 122 will typically be capable of about 100+ more RWHP over the standard 112. Give me a call, I can get one on order for you or go over the pricing.

Its out and for sale. I have one, sitting 10 feet way from me. Install is not scheduled yet. For a stock 6L you should get a 3.400" pulley. The fact that you're going from a 2.75" to a 3.4" is going to make a great difference in IAT's and I bet you still see 6-7psi. Same boost, lower air temps=more timing.

I have no data to back this up but I guesstimate that a 122 with a 2.75" pulley would make 18-20psi on a 6L. It wouldn't be efficient but it would push it. The air would be so hot it wouldn't do you much good either.
The advantage of the 122 is the ability to make the same boost levels/air flow as the 112 while not heating the air up like a hair dryer. IMO.
