Thumbs down No truck class for '09 LSX Shootout

"Class details have not been released as of yet, but we anticipate that Drag Radial, All Motor, True Street, and Index will be run again. Indications are that the Truck Index will not be run in 2009 due to low turnout. There have also been some rumors around the creation of another single power adder class that would be slower than the current Drag Radial class, but so far there has been no confirmation from the race organizers."

Damnit, the year I plan on running there won't be a truck class
(atleast as of now)

I do wish theyd give it one more year, but with the "single adder" and index classes, someone whos consistant could go and still do well IMO

Yeah, but an all truck class would bring a lot more attention to the potential these LS based trucks/SUVs have. I can only imagine how much larger it would get over the next few years.

How disappointing. I agree w/ Jordan, the Truck class only can grow as more become aware that a Truck class exists in the first place. Bill, why would anyone's feelings be hurt?

I like to go to 1 big event a year. It usually comes down to $, since I pick my vacation weeks as I see fit. So unless there's a conflict w/ work, $ usu. overrides. Last yr, gas was too much $$$ on top of that. By fall 09 when LSX event occurs, my ride & my wallet will finally be up to task. This yr., since the Hot Rod Power Tour is comin to Motown & Tenn, I plan to go on that. If it wasn't, I'd attend the LSX Shootout if, & only if there's a truck class.

How many trucks were needed @ last yrs. event in Memphis?
how many actually showed?

I was there but snapped my output shaft first pass. Gave it my best shot though. I don't remember seeing but about 10-12 trucks though.
