It was probably caused by the brake switch that turns off the cruise control. I am a firefighter and I have personally extinguished at least 10 fires caused by that switch. He was lucky all he lost was his truck. I have been to a couple of fires where the truck was parked in the garage and the whole house was nearly destroyed.

When I pulled up it was flames coming from under the hood and wheel wells. I heard it pop then fizzle, and boom it just went up fast. I guess it finally burn the gas line open and what fuel was there caught up.
Fire dept is about mile to a mile in a half away.
