Default Crank relearn procedure

Anybody around with HPtuner or efi live that can run a crank relearn for me?

My trucked popped a p0315 code yesterday and the inspection is due this month. I would rather not go to the dealer and have them void my warranty just yet...

Any help would be appreciated.

Dan

I changed it when I installed the turbo back in Dec.

I have never understood the whole crank relearn deal....I have changed my PCM out plenty of times and never had to do a relearn. When is it even needed?

I would help you out too, but you are even further from me than you are 03Sierra

Both of my tunes were fine when I first used them, and then after awhile the check engine light came on for it. First time it was just the 93 octane tune from Nelson so I didn't mind taking it into the dealer. This time the light came on after 3 months but with the turbo on there I don't feel like taking it to the dealer if I don't have too.

But honestly, I don't understand the crank relearn either....seems like it would happen as soon as I put the new pcm in there. Maybe I actually have a bad crank sensor???

You can disable the light and there are a few well know tuners that do it. Any time you change the pcm you should do a relearn it accounts for the differences in the casting and machining in the block... If you don't mind heading down to the casinos I can help you out
