Default Texas Speed VVT Truck Camshaft Dyno Results!

Here it is guys! Sorry for the delay! We've been running like mad around here already with tax time, and its taken an act of congress to get this graph from our tuner!

The truck is a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali with the 6.2L VVT equipped engine! It came in completely stock, down to the stock airbox and exhaust. The customer wanted a camshaft with a close to stock idle, but great power!

So we tested the new Texas Speed VVT truck cam on it! It is mid 2-teens on the intake, and high 220's on the exhaust (21x/22x) duration. It has mid .500's on the lift with a 1.7 ratio rocker, but is slightly too much for a new set of LS6 or L92 valve springs. We recommend the Comp 26918's or PAC 1218's as a minimum!

We installed the cam and tuned the truck, nothing more.

Some real good gains for a stock truck really impressed. Now get some headers intake and a nice cat back and should be in the 400 range. Were Do you order these new cams at? I have looked on the tsp website but cant find them.

Tell him to get an aftermarket catback so I can buy his stock one

With the normal exhaust mods and the other bolt ons I bet thats a 410+ truck.

Any sound clips of it at idle? Wondering how tame it is or what rpm it ended up idling at after tuning.

Didn't get any sound clips, but there wasn't any real noticeable lope....if you heard a stock truck next to this one, you MIGHT be able to tell the difference, but that's be it. Just walking up and hearing it, you'd swear it was stock. If he comes by anytime soon, I'll try to remember to get a clip!

Idled at 650-700rpm.

The aftermarket cam graph (red) goes down to 3200....that's about as low as it would start without looking real crappy...blame the stock converter. The stock cam makes even worse power down there, you can see the curve on it (blue) and how weak it is even up at 4000rpm.

Stock cam wasn't over 300ftlbs until about 4300rpm or so....the aftermarket cam made over 300ftlbs by 3600rpm or so! There is around 85-90ftlbs of improvement down there between 3000-4000rpm!
