Default Stock 8.1L :(

so i dynoed the big beast last night. 107K miles, 100% stock on 87 octain gas. 235 whp and 311wtq... revve limitor kicked in a 4500-4600rpms.

Ok numbers i guess but i find the tq a little strange. that puts me at loosing 85 hp 320crank -235wheel, 144tq - 455crank -311 wheels,

Does that seem normal? that would give like a 32% drive train loss on tq and 27% on hp..

4l80 will take most of the loss into affect. Nice numbers anyways.

hmm, I'm taking my truck and one of my parents vehicles to a dyno day on sunday. One of theirs that I had considered was my dad's 8.1L Suburban. His was rated at 340hp. I would hope that it would put down more than that.

I am about to dyno my 2001 8.1L 2500 4x4 with the Allison transmission. I am going to do a before and after. Before will be bone stock, after will be bone stock + HP Tuners, all I'm gonna do is turn the torque management etc..off and play with the WOT timing and fuel, I figure it will gain at least 20-30 hp and tq at the wheels.

my sister is borrowing Dad's suburban to move this week, so I wasn't able to dyno it.
