Wanted to share some information that I got today. I made a small cheap mod on my truck which cost me $20 and I found myself with some big increases...thought I'd share so people can get an idea on what kinda difference this makes and some feedback, this isn't permanent but will work for now.
I previously had the stock STS PCV crankcase system on my truck which had caused me a few moment of concern in the past. I'd like to run a vacuum pump off my crankcase but for now I just vented it to the atmosphere.
Here's the results. (I have some dyno sheets and will post them tomorrow if I can)
Previous Numbers @ 17.2psi...
579 rwhp
682 rwtq
New Numbers @ 18.1psi...
623 rwhp
726 rwtq
Power Gained w/ 1psi
44 rwhp
44 rwtq
Just wanted to get some feedback or even some possible previous comparisons of others who might have done this mod.
I'm planning on making dyno runs between every upgrade/modification that I have left to do because I'm curious on the results. Mods still left to do are larger A/R housing, enlarge hot side piping, meth injection and upgrade chintzy boost controller because I'm seeing too much spiking.

are you venting just a hose from the valve cover to the atmosphere?? or is the pcv valve still there, and you are just letting the hose vent out instead of the intake??
im trying to figure out where these gains have come from unless you had oil going thru your pcv system and maybe that was causing the loss of power...
nut i imagine you would know if you were sucking up enough to do taht i think you would know it

With the old PCV system I saw some Oil misting at the back of the adapter place from time to time when on the dyno so I know the crankcase was under some serious pressure and oil was being injested by the engine.
Yup yup. Not saying that anyone who does this will see these kind of results but wanted to share some info. There's a lot of factors that come into play. It was done on the same dyno thought, but again like you mentioned chase there's always other factors to consider.
