Default New Radix #'s

Hey, I was having some detonation issues, so I brought my truck back to the tuner and he worked the tune a lil bit. The only difference between the two runs is a new Gatorback belt, and some NGK TR6 gapped at .040 and the new tune.

New

Does it make sense that I picked up 61 ftlbs by those few things???

Definately possible depending on what was done with the tune. If you had some belt slippage before, the gatorback definitely helped to build boost.

To hot or an incorrectly gapped plug can sap out all kinds of power also.

Impressive gain! It seems that something was out of whack before, either belt slip, plugs or tune.

Wow, those are nice gains for just a few bucks. Can you feel the difference in power after the plugs, belt and tune?

I definitely noticed that the drive ability was better, and it seems to pull harder all the way through the rpm range.

I drive the truck every day, so I've gotten pretty used to the power, and it just didn't seem that fast anymore, so I spent some time driving a bone stock 2003 suburban and that put the power back in perspective.

The tuner did mention that since he did my truck last summer, he had tuned A lot more magnachargers and had picked up quite a bit more knowledge on them.

how do you like the power with the 285's and 4.10's. i was pulling home my enclosed trailer today and realized my 5.3 is a dog in and out of the hills and such. Not sure if the magnacharger or a turbo would be the way to go with towing. thanks

The power is good with my gears and tires, Ideally I should have 4.56s if I wanted to keep the gearing as close to stock as possible. But with the radix, it makes enough torque that I don't mind, and it drops the revs a little on the highway to help mileage a bit. A magnacharger would definitely help with towing, just make sure the trans is up to it.

yea im debating whether to go 4:10's due to highway driving. I know i have lost alot of low end because of these big heavy tires. I was looking at getting a pullout lq9 and 4l80e in the near future. Just not sure to go turbo or radix. Both have their ups and downs, it just seems the radix will be less tuning. With your torque numbers it seems like it is just as good with a radix over a turbo. What rear end are you running?
