Made some changes a few weeks ago and finally got the truck on the rollers again. Pretty disappointed, was hoping to hit 400rwhp NA and still sound stock. The truck still sounds stock but only made 386rwhp.
Previous best was 349rwhp.
I completely built this engine from a bare block earlier this year, since the install on Easter weekend its accumulated 41k miles already

Gonna try 1 more cam and see if 400rwhp can be reached without sounding like John Force pulling up to the line. Might also try a set of cnc heads also. Either way the engine is coming out early next year and being replaced by a LS3 based build.

Top secret buddy...haha
Ok ok, here are the details. 2001 LS1 Block & gun drilled crank, 243 heads both milled .006 due to a small gouge on one head, stock size valves, rough edges in intake runners smoothed, speedpro pistons, stock 143 rods. NNBS intake and 87mm TB, stock air intake box & tube, stock exhaust manifolds.
Engine had a stock 5308 LS6 cam when I built it. LS series engines take a long time to break in, mine didn't make its peek hp with the ls6 cam until it had over 7k miles. For reference here are the results as the engine broke in.
1st week of May 2012 67 degrees 321rwhp
2nd week of May 2012 79 degrees 331rwhp
2nd week of June 2012 92 degrees 349rwhp
2nd week of Nov 2012 55 degrees 386rwhp
The current cam I specd myself 214/224 .550/.560 118lsa the peak hp is at 5200rpm. The peak power on the LS6 cam was at 5700rpm.
