Ok so I have an update. I decided to get at 224/224
114 lsa. I installed the cam and springs over labor day and dynoed this past wed. Well I hit 328 in 2nd gear. We tried a 3rd gear pull but I was slipping at 4k. The curve up to that point was evenly 20 hp more so I was 348 est in 3rd. Not bad considering.
Well I met a forum member on Thursday to buy his build trans and on my way home the bottom fell out. Not sure the damage yet but im sure a rod and bearing and lots of other stuff went. Long and short the motor I shot. So I bought a 6.0 and is being installed with the new trans. Now I need to figure out what goodies for this one. Then figure out what I can save and sell off the 5.3 I see 400 in my future. And a torquerv2

Assuming they are not damaged I will be pulling them and selling along with the 224/224 and the 918 springs. I am buying the stage 2.5 5.3 heads and cam from texas speed and performance. Go big or stay home.

Its a great cam. My last set up, in my sig was an ls6 and this was better especially in the low end. The ls6 cam in around 4500 this can is a lot sooner. You will like it a lot

Well I finally got the truck back on the road.
I took the truck in to swap the blown 5.3 with a lq4 and while i was at it install new PRC 2.5 5.3 heads with a Torquer v2 cam from the guys at Texas Speed on top of everything else on the truck. We noticed the cam bearings need to be replaced so since we did that, we pulled the bottom rehoned the cylinders, new rings, and ls6 oil pump and and ls2 timing chain and gear. Started to put it back together and realized the tranny I picked up will not work with out a ton of mod. in short i had my tranny rebuilt stronger with a 2800 stall.
So after several months of crap I am finally driving and holly **** is this thing fast. I just finished doing a post break in street tune. The dyno tune is next and i will post numbers then. I am hoping for 425+ but we will see. Next year I plan on a magnacharger.
Until then its always funny to see a truck with a ladder rack and tool box making a turbo honda look stupid.
