Default 305/70 on '02 F150

A buddy of mine has a 2002 F150 4x4 and is getting some tires and rims. We already know that the torsion bars will have to be cranked a little to fit 285/75 16 tires, but he wants to go with 305/70 16's. Does anybody have this combo or know if 305/70's will fit on a stock truck with the torsion bars cranked? He is also planning on getting 16x10 wheels as well.

after some research i found this listed on another site.

285/70-17's (33x11.50) will fit easily. In fact, many members have fit 315/70-17's (35x12.50) on 4x4 by using the stock wheels and cranking up the tosion bars.

hope this helps out. those are 33" right. i have an 04 supercrew and i know that they are putting 33's on with a lot of clearance left. i believe that they should work fine. and if at least the tire shop will know for sure.

I appreciate it man. I was thinking that they should fit considering the clearance up front; although the 97-03 do sit lower then the 04+. Its kinda hard to figure out sizes when you don't have the tires or wheels yet, but I think we can make it work.

They will fit fine, with a 8in. wide wheel. My brother has them on his 01 F-150 and didn't even need to crank the bars at all. It doesn't rub at all either during normal driving, but if you go off-raod I'm sure it will rub a little then.
