My friend just got a truck 04 f150 its an xl, my dad drove it he fell in love with it this is what he said, your truck wont even come close to that, now i was just like uhmm hmmm. When i got my truck every1 just noticed and then was like nice truck then left they saw his every1 stood around it and got in and out drove it and tried doing burnout (wich he could barely chirp them).
I was like in my head let me show you my truck when things settle down.

Now they were all like why didnt you get a ford f150 they had employee discount too, my answer was he can have a better interior, better ride, better looks (wich i like mines better), but it will NEVER EVER BE A CHEVY SILVERADO. So after all this i asked so when are we gonna line up he lowered his head and shook it saying no. I left with a little tire smoke and said LIKE A ROCK.
After all this i think he has a 5.4 but not sure even if he does if we ever race who would win (just to make sure)

 

You're running a 15.6, a RCSB 5.4 2wd Triton won't even run that stock. They are major slugs I hear..

EDIT: Actually, I forgot that I drove one at a dealer before I even had my liscense. It was just like the truck I listed above and I do remember the ride was very bumpy. I spun it a little at 3/4 throttle and it didn't run the speedo up too bad but it didn't do either one like my Chevy did stock. I'll admit the interior is really nice and they are nice looking trucks, but I'll keep what I have..

 

I'll agree- the new F-150 is a nice truck- good interior, drives nice and I do like the exterior more than our trucks, but power wise there's just nothing there

 

the ONLY thing that kept me from buyin an 05/06 f-150 was the lack of performance options, and the sheer weight of the truck.

Fit and finish were bar none better than my Chevy......

 

No worries... you'll whip him easy. I think the older F-150s look better than the new ones... too much body clad I think.

I think the Toyota Tacomas will run with the f-150's so you'll be fine... i wonder why he wasnt all gung-ho to race you? Oh wait... I know... bc he knows its slow.

I will agree with one thing tho.. the interior is a lot nicer than ours.. but i can careless... i can always make that look nicer.

 

The sad part was he knew my truck isnt as good looking in the interior because its a W/T so it has the cheapest materials (i could care less), my dad was like my sons chevy wont ride better then this he was like really, he also said it dosnt even drive like a truck he was like to me your drives hard, i was yup he got all happy i could see it in his face. BUT IMO if they gave me a free f150 i would trade it in for a Silverado anyday.
For you ford guys how can i tell wich engine he has even he dosnt know it.

it all depends on what you want your truck for, if he likes a nice interior and a smooth ride, then he got the truck he should have, but IMO, if he wants a fast truck, nice looking truck got about the worst one he could, i'd take a frontier over a damn ford

 

I talked to him today he said he wish he had gotten the GMC that was on the lot but it came out to 24k he payed 19k for his ford. He said that he would have gotten the GMC but he tough for the price and niceness he stayed with the ford. Too bad because hes stuck with a 4.6 3.55 gears and the GMC had a 4.8 3.73s (i went to look at the GMC just out of curiosity). I could beat his maxima in my truck now i can out run him in his truck too. Just out of curiosity do you guys know where i could get a hitch cover that says REMOVE TO TOW FORDS i have seen a few around in some Chevys but never seen one online for sale.

I would have an 04 except:
5.4 is a turd and GM's Gen III is AWESOME
their extended cab is basically a suicide door regular cab.
