I have been looking at alot of peoples times lately and even tnough I may have a faster et they genereally have a faster mph. Is it just the weight that is slowing down my mph? Last time out at the track I weighed on at 5185 with a little weight reduction. My best time last time out to the track with the mods in my sig was 15.18 at 88.52. I notice that there was a guy on here with a rcsb z71 that ran a 15.5 at 89.5 with just an fipk and straight exhaust. The extended cab shouldnt make that much of a difference as far mph goes and the greater extent of my mods and I am only 4 tenths faster. I ran a 15.9 at about 82ish with just a K&N drop-in and dual exhaust if that helps. Maybe my engine is just worn out it has 145,000 miles on it. Hopefully by the end of the summer I will have an ls1 in it or a 6L.
Thanks, Cody

Are you backing off the throttle at the 1/4 mark? At most track I know of( I could be wrong) there are 3 sets of light at the big end. !st set is mphstart. Second is 1/4 mile third is trap speed mph. Maybe your just backin off to soon.

Nope I know for sure Im not cause I stay in it till it shifts into 3rd at 92 mph so if I was going through the quarter in 3rd my mph would be alot higher. At HRP there are some little foam blocks where the lights are and I stay on it till well past that.

It's probably your weight doing it.
Your times are not bad though. It took all the basic bolt-ons for me to get into your times and it took a cam for me to get into the 14s. Once I did the big cam and some weight reduciton I was solid into the low 14s@97mph but it took a lot of work to get there.
I remmeber having LTs, gutted cats, weight reduction, tt3000, Volant etc and still only runing low 15s @ about 89-90mph.

Hey f8l how much were you weighing in at when you would run. I know my toolbox is killing me but is a HUGE HUGE PITA to remove. 5185 was without a tailgate and me out of it with the low fuel light on in the truck. Next time out ill take the tailgate sub box and most of the **** out of the toolbox along with the spare tire but I think I am going to run into traction problems without some of that weight on the rear end of it.

I'm not exactly sure what it weighed when I was still in the 15s.. I would remove the spare, the tailgate, and speaker boxes (95lbs worth of subwoofers). I believe I was probably at about 5000lbs raceweight (me in it) maybe a tad more. I do know that when I trapped 97mph I was closer to 4900lb raceweight unless the scale was messed up. After the turbo install I jumped up to 5250lb raceweight
That's with all the same weight reduction mods including no back seat.
I wouldn't be upst with your times man. Everyone runs differently and if you base everything off what other people are running you'll likely be dissapointed. Just keep modding and enjoy your truck bro
IMO your next step is a beefy cam and a custom tune.

Already have a nelson tune. Im not going to mess with a cam Im going to get an ls1 or 6L by the end of the summer hopefully if everything works out as planned. With that setup n/a hopefully it will put me in the mid 13's I am going to rebuild it from the crank to the intake manifold. Then once I get bored with that a 100 or so wet shot outta do the trick. I dont know about taking out the back seat that seems like alot of trouble and Im pretty lazy.
