I think everyone can agree that a "street truck" has to be registered with tags and insured at the very least. . .

If you can't drive at least 50 miles ea way to track and back in 100 deg heat and run your number, or drive to the next town 30 miles away for dinner on sat night you are not much of a street car/truck imo.

The problem is running into people who think a streetcar or truck only needs to run on the street. Insurance and tags are a must. The argument about AC, tires, interior is lame to me. Vehicles come from the factory in some cases with no AC. Not common today, but our trucks are almost all 5+ years old which back then it was still an option for many vehicles. If you can't drive it on the street its not a street truck. Guys like Mitch are perfect examples of a race truck that I still consider a street truck, BC he can and does drive it on the street. The trailer argument is about reliability and being prepared. Foose is on a whole different level. A solid consensus will be darn near impossible to reach on this one.

I fail to see how the ac argument is lame when it was stated that if your vehicle came equipped with ac from the factory, and YOU physically removed it?

Most important option on any vehicle: Air Conditioning.... then turbos, superchargers, nitrous, cam swaps, etc. I just don't see how anybody could drive comfortably without it in 95* weather on a 30 mile cruise

It's a discussion board, hence everyone discussing the topic at hand... don't like it move on to the next thread

My truck doesnt have AC just because I didnt feel like hooking the compressor back up....its really not that big of a deal. I have actually been driving my truck all week....several trips to home depot with a bed full of lumber and pulling a trailer with a lawn mower on it, but I guess since I dont have AC its a race truck...

Lol, I keep wanting to like alot of these comments. IMO if you can take your woman on a road trip during summer with no bitching there's a good chance it's a street truck.

This is where I A/C to me is a big deal but not a deciding factor. By every definition in my book (outside of A/C) your truck is a street truck. It does in many senses effect it's street cred due to you not being able to take the woman out to lunch on a hot day, or comfortably go run arrons on a 90* day. Yes you got lumber and building supplies but my work truck doesn't have A/C either(broken *** 93 truck), that is because I am filthy, dirty and sweaty at work anyhow. But you better believe I am not driving that thing when I am cleaned up and going out somewhere on a hot day because I want to be presentable and not dripping sweat.

Someone brought up that many of our trucks didn't come with A/C. I can't imagine that more then 2% didn't have it factory. Am I correct or is it slightly more?
