I think Drag Week sets the standard of what a "true street" car should be, EVEN IF its a $100,000 promod. As long as its legally plated and inspected of course. But even that means different things in different states and counties!

There are alot that are streetable but not street car. Ive got a buddy with a sn95 mustang built with a c4 tranny yea he can drive it 3hr trip but he can only run 55-60 because its turning so many rpms. My lightning for example i can still fill it up with pump gas and drive to california running 10mph over the speed limit with the ac kicking and run 10s on race day. I do trailer it to the track so i dont have to worry about a ride home if it breaks nor having to swap wheels and tires at the track.
I say the most impressive part of this post is you have a 10 sec. Lightning. What all is done?

I do agree with everything else but it is common place, a 10 sex lighning isn't.

did your mom drop you on your head when you were a baby? there are a TON of 10 second lightnings. also 9 8 and i think 7 second lightnings. pull your head out of your ***.

as for the street truck debate....tagged, licensed, insured with DOT tires on pump gas. that includes e85 which is sketchy in our area. also with a good size fuel tank.

i used to be on the AC band wagon, but my current build didnt have the room to fit the AC box in the factory location. maybe one day i can afford to put an aftermarkt ac system in.

Imo it is a street car/truck if you can drive it everyday. Fill up with pump gas and not afraid to take it on a 300mile road trip.

Ac doesn't make it a street car. Drive it to work and to the track and through the car wash and out to dinner and get gas anywhere...

Otherwise, park it in the weeds.

i like this allot !

the whole trailer thing i kinda have mixed emotions about. i guess it comes down to why your using the trailer imo . i think if your leaving town "away from your home track" it would be ok but if you cant drive your truck to the track that is on the other side of town or even 20 miles away then you got a racecar . for example my local track is about a 25-30 min drive for me and i drive there every time i go to the track and run. but, im going to vegas at the end of the month which is about a 10-11hr drive from me but im towing it there for a couple reasons, 1- the family is going with me and we are making a vacation out of it and im dropping the truck off with my tuner for a couple days while we go do our thing. 2- its a long drive in a truck that runs e85 and i dont think there are e85 stations that go all the way down there. 3- it would be very cramped having 3 car seats in the back of a ex cab truck with toys and coloring books etc...lol .4- if i break the thing at the track i dont want a 5k bill to tow it back home ! lol . maybe i have a race truck ??

its AALLLLL personal opinion... everyone has their own idea of what is or isnt a "street car". my truck, which i know most people would consider a race truck, is perfectly streetable IMO. sure, it doesnt have AC or power steering or the ride of a cadilac... but im perfectly happy driving it in the 90* alabama summers. it never over heats, or has a problem in traffic or just cruising down the highway (when its actually running anyways...) so to me, thats a street car!

I built my last truck so my grandma could hop in it and take it cross-country if she needed to. It is nice to be able to take the vehicle's reliability/comfort/ease of operation for granted sometimes lol.

Yea I tend to agree with the whole 'anyone can drive it' idea. AC doesnt make a street car... hell most cars never used to come with it. I also agree with the idea that its OK to trailer a street truck a long distance to the track.
