I've searched and searched and found a lot of info on disc brake rear setups but I have drums. Looking to run a 15x10 rear if it will clear but not sure if it will fit, what backspace to run etc. what wheel size combo will fit and still be tucked with drum brakes? Right now I'm running factory 20s with 32" tires and they are heavy as hell and killing me. So I'm wanting to run a lightweight street/strip combo with a drag radial. Any info would be great! im thinking i might just run some GMC 17s but wondering what size tires people are running? i wonder if 275/40/17 would be to small.. its a 26" tire... going from 32"-26 would be a huge jump and im wondering if that would leave way to much wheel gap

 

26" would be too much wheel gap, but you will get out of the hole faster, my 05 crew cab dropped .5 in the quarter going from my 20's same set up as you, to stock steel 17s on those drag radials. and a 15" rear will fit on your drums, its the disk you have to worry about.

i did look at the bogart threads.. and like i said 99% of the info i found was on disc brake setups and bs for disc brakes. i have drums. im just trying to figure out the correct bs and wheel size.

 

You need a 15x10 with 6.5" back space

Mine are 15x10 with a 6.5" back space and 315/60 drag radials.

 

can you run a 15X8 with a 4" backspace on the rear with drums? and be able to run a 275 60 15

 

Yes. Before I had the 15x10's I ran a GM 15x8 truck rally rim with 28x12.5 et street.
