What will get me a better time?
#1
Alright, this one is a little off the beaten path here. Long story short, my real race car is still under construction, but the countless **** talkers still come around. So just to have some fun before the snow flys, I decided I'd answer some call outs with the tow rig.
I've got a 2000 ext. cab short bed 1500 with a 5.3 and 4X4. It's all stock other than a K&N filter. I decided I'd borrow my camaro's nitrous kit and spray a 100 shot. The kid I'm racing has run a best of 15.6 at our local track. I've never run my truck or had much desire to till today, so I'm pretty clueless what it might run.
I'm curious on the best method of beating that 15.6. This will be on an unprepped road, so whoever gets traction first should be the winner. I'm wondering if I should leave it in 2wd and spray it in 2nd gear and pray it doesn't break em loose again or should I launch it in 4wd, get instant traction, and hope the 100 shot makes up for the extra drag on the top end?
any thoughts?
