Default What should it run?

A buddy of mine has a 04 Silverado 2500. It has a duramax diesel engine, 373's, banks exhaust, K & N CAI, and power programmer/chip.

I dont know much about diesels.. I know that theyre very powerful and can tow a ton of weight.. But how fast would his truck be?

He's called me out on a race (I have a bolt-on 2002 Camaro SS.. Should be high 12's). What would the outcome of this race be? Should I be scared? Is he just running his mouth, or will he "beat the **** outta my slow *** camaro" (in his words)?

Its still got the stock turbo, no BOV, and has 31's on it.

The fastest Ive seen a Duramax u was 13.5, that was with exhaust, intake, built transmission and efi live tune with stock tires, but he stretched his head bolts and blew the head exhaust. Everyone that I know that has a duramax that doesnt have a built tranny the stock converter slips and they cant run those programmers on high levels. I say race him because you should beat him, the only thing he will do is get you out of the hole because he will launch in 4 HI.

You should beat him unless he's has more done to it then he's telling you. Race him from a roll and kick his ***.

Thats what I thought.. But I just wanted to make sure.

The thought of getting walked by a 9000lb near stock truck made my stomach turn.

He's not hiding anything from me. I know its near stock.

He said it should be at 500rwhp (with just the tune/chip, cai, and exhaust). That had me questioning how i'd stand up.. But if you guys say that he'd lose.. It makes me feel 10000x better.

My cousin has 2 powerstrokes that are very quick (low 12's), so I know that they are something you shouldnt take lightly on the street.. But I thought he'd need more than just an exhaust, CAI, and tune to walk me!

Even if I do win.. I cant return the **** talking.. Because his silverado pulled my trailblazer out on a trail in the adirondacks.
