Default is a upgraded 3200 stall converter streetable?

heya,
In preparing to get a turbo setup after tax man comes next month i want to send out my transmission valvebody(firmer more crisp shifting.. right now every shift is 1.2 secsplus) and to get my 2400 stock stall speed upped to 3000-3200 to help my 60' times which imo for my mods suck i'm only getting 1.97 to 2.01's with my mods..

so for those that have it explain the likes and dislikes.. ive never done these mods to a truck before..

It takes a littel more rpms to get moving around town. Will actually seem a bit sluggish around 2500 rpms just starting from a dead stop and only reaching 25mph or so. But besides this and you get you a good cooler I just wouldnt try to haul 8k pounds or nothing but besides that you will love it!

i daily drive mine with a 3,400 stall and i love it, but it is preference to me it sounds badass of course you loose a little in gas mileage driving around town but the freeway stays alright, from a deadstop i can light my 20's up pretty good

yea two companies that i found thru looking thru TheHead's old posts on titantalk.com Levelten.com and ipttrans.com.. both do valvebody work and upgrade stall converters.. only problem is they know they are one of the few and want 1,800 bucks to do both.. sounda little much imo but you gotta do what you gotta do to get this 5k brick down the track

WOW!!!! you may want to way options here.

Your titan makes GREAT torque when it does flash to 2500rpms, I have driven my dads a few times. Going from 2500 to 3200 in the powerband. Are you making more torque at 3200 then say 2500-2600? if so then this will help. If your not which i don tthink you are making much more torque at 3200 then 2600(atleast to pay 1800 for) then it may not be worth it.

Just some food for thought.

here's a recent dyno you tell me, hehe i really don't know if it'll help but the way it is now sucks, i dont have a 2500 stall now prob closer to 2200 off the line it barely even throws u back in the seat.. i think the titan gets it's top torque under 4k rpms.. specifically in the 3200-4000 region.. then it falls off

here's one of my dynos.. even after 27 dyno pulls in 1 hr the beast still performs strong only lost 10hp and 12tqfrom when i started from heat soak

When I had mine changed to 2800rpm it did nothing. If I were to do it again, I would have done 3200rpm. The valve body does nothing as well, at least from IPT, due to the fact the torque management is on the chip that is attached to the valve body. It wasn't fooled by the work they did for mine anyway.

There was a nice gain on mine from a 2300 to a 2800 stall. If nothing else I'd say it just makes the vehicle much more fun to drive. I'd like to try a 3K stall but they are just now starting to make them for the hemi.

What where your NA 60's like where you still getting 2.0's? cause if you where i fully believe you got gain but just didnt realize it, before the uprev tune my truck ran consistant 2.25 to 2.30 60's no matter what i did but after UpRev tuning im running 1.97 to 2.01's 60' cause of the removal of the drive by wire and is very consistant with the drag radials.. i'm not going to use IPT since you had bad luck with them, if anything i will go to level10 for the stall and use Stillen for the valvebody mod.. looking at this description of what they do to the titan valvebody is this excactly what you had done?? or was your valvebody less work done? only reason i ask is because Got_titan from the clubtitan boards got his valvebody back last week and said his lasy shifts are gone and the shifting time is cut in half of the 1.5 long sloppy shifts it once was, he said the major improvement is the "kickdown shifts when flooring it" he said it knows excactly where to go without having to slouch thru the gears like it is stock..

here's the stillen write up tell me whatcha think..

Looking for crisper shifts and better performance from your automatic transmission? Our valve body upgrade is the answer.

This unit will increase the power handling ability of the transmission as well as firm up the shifts and improve performance. Shifts 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 are substantially improved. Our extensive modifications include upgrading springs, revalving and machining the stock unit. Better performance than any other unit!

**Please note - THERE IS NO CORE PROGRAM. This upgrade is performed on the valve body already inside your transmission. You must remove your valve body and send it to us for the upgrade.

Once you have purchased our Valve Body Upgrade we will send you (via your choice of shipping method) an empty box. This will contain instructions on removing the valve body, adequate packing materials for shipping..

It is very important that you package the valve body carefully. Once we receive the valve body, we will have the valve body upgrade finished within 2 days of receiving it and will send the completed unit back to you (via your choice of shipping method) for installation. Please contact us with any questions.

The slightest damage can render the valve body and the transmission unusable. As replacement valve bodies are unavailable, we insure (as you should when sending the unit in) each valve body shipment for the cost of an installed replacement transmission and limited rental car use.

NOTE: You MUST use Nissan's specialty transmission fluid for this transmission. Any other fluid will cause damage!
