Well, finally got up to the track with the new '05 Silverado SS. I was hoping to break into the 14's with the truck in stock form and bam, first trip down the 1320 the truck didn't dissappoint.
Here's my first slip.
60' - 2.104
330' - 6.153
1/8 - 9.517
1/8mph - 73.70
1000' - 12.420
1/4 - 14.922
1/4 mph - 89.59
On the second run I thought I'd bump up the shift points, lean it out some, and bump the timing 2 degrees. The truck did NOT like this at all plus the trans temp was pretty hot after the first run.
60' - 2.116
330' - 6.222
1/8 - 9.649
1/8 mph - 71.70
1000' - 12.637
1/4 - 15.197
1/4 mph - 88.10
On the third and final run I put the shift points only at 5800 and richened the AFR up just a tad, left the timing there. The truck ran better but, still not as good as with just the stock tune.

60' - 2.098
330' - 6.128
1/8 - 9.500
1/8 mph - 73.23
1000' - 12.425
1/4 - 14.945
1/4 mph - 89.57
The truck definately didn't like the shift points at 6000rpm. It seemed to get up there close to 6000 and take a little bit to actually get there to shift. Thinking back on the three runs when it was shifting at the stock 5600rpm was when it felt the strongest after the shift. Of course it ran best like that also.
The truck was totally stock weight on all three runs and had 3/4 tank of gas. I might stop by the dump tomorrow and run it over the scales to check the weight out.
Next time to the track it will hopefully be ALOT faster.

We get some good weather over here on the East Coast this time of year plus the tracks around might as well be at sea level. It was about 58 degrees today so the weather wasn't bad.
I watched another '05 SS go 14.6 with just a intake and some transmission tuning about a month ago so they definately move out.

XL, what do you think you can 60' on the stock tires? Also, what
timing adjustments did you make? What A/F ratio were you seeing
after leaning out the mixture? I'm wondering why your motor didn't
like the adjustments... seems that it would
Thanks, Kyle

Thanks guys
OUT2WIN - Yep, I was pretty happy with the stock run. With some even better weather I could see a 14.8 outta it I bet.
Looking at your timeslip it looks like the AWD is slowing me down on the top end compared to your run. I think I have about 5500 miles on it right now.
Sport Side - It's AWD so I hope it can 60' pretty good on these tires
On timing adjustments I just went over some logs and added 2 degrees to the areas where the truck is at WOT. The A/F ratio on the second run was around 13-13.1:1. After that I richened it up but didn't log it. I'll check what it is tomorrow, probably around 12.5:1 or so. I think the extended shifts had the most to do with it. It just didn't want to pull up that high for some reason, on the street it felt better but, definately didn't show it at the track.
Maybe next week I'll have a 13's timeslip.
