i think i really need a new converter because it would be holding the nose up then shift into third and the nose would take a dive!!!!!!! also i think it should be in a 1.7 or 1.8 60ft. converter is a 3000 that flashes to around 2200 and falls 2000 rpm between shifts

i actually think that my converter isnt any better than stock. i know thats my whole reason the times arent that impressive either. i mean when its shifting at 6500 and falling back to 4500 every shift, thats alot of time and speed right there. also i dont have a UD pulley and had 20's up on the front, also in 88-91 degree weather

i would like to have a 5000 to 5500 extension, like falling 1000 or 1500 between shifts. i think im gonna send this one back to them and see if they can build a 4000 out of it. How much more time should i gain by going to a 4000 over this 3000

I'm running the TCI-SF as well. It flashes to ~2700-2800 and the shift extensions allow no more than a ~1600 rpm drop. I am running a smaller cam than you (210/218) with peak TQ being right at 4400 rpm, so it makes sense.
That monster 228R however, prolly doesn't reach peak TQ until at least 5000 rpm, which would explain your lower flash rpm and the nosing over when shifting into 3rd, as you are down on TQ in the rpm range of this verter. A 4000 would definately wake your truck up at the track, but may get a little old on the street especially if it was a daily driver. Like Lance and 07 Z71 said a 3600 may be more appropriate.
