A mustang I was looking to run for a few months changed hands a week or so ago. The new owner happened to stop at my neighbors house as I got home from driving the HD. Long story short we set up to race around the corner from the house. We set up and had a friend supposed to be taping. Well he is a idiot and gave use a light flash to go and didn't have the camera running.

The guy in the mustang went on the first of three flashes so he got out ahead 1.5 lengths. I reeled him in before the 1/8th and got him by 2-3 lengths by the 1/4. We ran back the other way with a better start and I took him by 3 plus lengths by the 1/8 and who knows how many by the 1/4. I am pissed my friend didn't video it but maybe next time we won't set it up in 5 minutes and have a better plan. And someone who can run the camera.

It was a 90 something 5.0 LX.

 

After getting the itch from racing this stang, I went to the local street races. I took a 2000 something 4.6 GT by 3or4 cars and ran a 05 6.0 Powerstroke. He jumped me 1.5 to 2 truck lengths off the line and while I gained maybe half a truck he took most of that lead to the stripe. Then 5-0 rolled through and we had to get out. Next week I have my eye on a few stangs but going to take my bottle to make sure we put them down.

Yea it is fun. I took the new stang by a good car and half(before the 1/8th) so i let out a bit for our first race but I gave him too much and he took me by a half a car. I didn't let out at all the seccond race and left him a car behind at the line and pulled another 2 or so cars before the strip. Good thing letting him win the first one he was willing to run again. I tried to bet him $10 on the third race but the spanking he took in race two he was un willing to run for money.

 

Nice kill. I haven't run mine on the street much but I do have a kill on an 5.0 fox coupe and an 05ish 4.6 GT.

 

Any track data since the chassis shortening and rear suspension change?

Whats the deal with you and mustangs. Your always bragging about beating them. I would have loved to meet up with you in mine, you could have sprayed and I would have still put a hurting on you. They arent all slow like you make them out to be. Quit picking on the ones with an intake and exhaust. Yeah, your beating what is suppossed to be a sports car in a truck, but your truck has a decent size engine with mods and nitrous. Throw a shot of that nitrous on that stock mustang and you will be in the rearview. On all these races you didnt have time to get a camara rolling?

 

mebbe he dislikes mustangs.. there was a time everyone owned a fox body mustang and I never have but I have driven a bunch

 

Mustangs can be quick...with a ls engine.
